Meet the team behind the revolutionary HFQ® Technology.

Impression Technologies Ltd was formed in January 2013 to act as a portal between Imperial College London’s Engineering Faculty and automotive and transport manufacturers.

In order to meet the demands of the HFQ® Technology, Impression Technologies has grown rapidly and we are always on the lookout for new talents.

 

Jonathan Watkins- Chief Executive Officer

Jonathan has 25 years of experience in commercialising technology in the international automotive, industrial and cleantech sectors, having held senior commercial and operational leadership positions in Federal-Mogul, Textron, and most recently, Ceres Power.

He is a Chartered Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science & Technology from the University of Birmingham and a masters in Design, Manufacturing & Management from the University of Cambridge.

Rex Vevers- Chief Financial Officer & Chief Commercial Officer

Experienced Group Finance Director, leading public and private companies in sectors including Technology, IT, FMCG and Financial Services. Qualified Corporate Treasurer with proven ability to raise equity/debt funding and successfully completing M&A and corporate venturing deals.

Rex had set up and sold a software development company and been a Non-Executive Director of a VC-backed software company.

Christine Parker- Director of Global Standards & Quality

Christine has spent over 15 years in Senior management positions within the automotive industry. She has experience in many functions including quality, programme management, account management and sales in Ford Motor Company, Visteon and ZF TRW.

Christine is a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College and an MBA from Middlesex University.

 

 

 

Alistair Foster- Director of Innovation

Alistair is a co-inventor of the HFQ® technology and joined ITL in 2013.

Alistair developed HFQ® production technology process from lab based technology.

He has worked in automotive, defence and nuclear power industries and had project managed work packs valued at £4m.

Alistair is a Chartered Engineer with a PhD from the University of Birmingham.

John Sellors- Director – Applications Engineering

Previously led the Metallic Materials and Process Group at Lotus Engineering.

John has built a strong, global reputation for his expertise on materials and process specification, design for manufacture, light-weighting and applied R&D.

John has been instrumental in the delivery of projects from niche Supercars for AML to steel bodied vehicles for China.

John is a Chartered Engineer, Materials Graduate and Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Bruce Girvan- Director IP & Licensing

Bruce has over 30 yrs experience in developing and commercialising technology in the international energy, low carbon and materials sectors. Holding senior positions, Bruce brings strength to understanding of how a business operates and what is required for a customer to gain value whilst protecting IP. He has a developed a tech business from spin-out, through listing, to completing international development and license agreements with a number of global companies. Bruce has honed his skills in commercialisation in Schlumberger, BP (Atlantic Richfield), Avon Rubber and Ceres Power.

Bruce has an MBA from Imperial College London, a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Brunel University and is a Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

 

 

 

Simon Griffiths- Director of Operations & Project Management

Simon is responsible for the delivery of all production programmes. He joined us from Jaguar Land Rover where he held a number of senior roles within Chassis Engineering.

With over 30 years international automotive experience working for both OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, he has gained a wealth of experience in pressed metal assemblies in aluminium and steel.

Simon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath and is Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Damian Szegda- Director of Process Simulation & Tool Design

Damian has a background in stress analysis and characterisation of complex materials.

Prior to joining ITL he worked within defence.

Damian has been lead analyst for £10m+ defence projects.

Damian holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Silesian University of Technology and a PhD from Brunel University.

Daniel Cox- Head of Advanced Engineering & Technology Transfer

Daniel is a chartered engineer with over 20 years of design, analysis and product development experience in the automotive, marine propulsion, clean tech and fuel cell industries gained from working within large multinational companies through to start-ups.

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oxford Brookes University and is an APMG accredited Prince2 Practitioner.

In his spare time he enjoys water skiing and maintains a collection of cars that he restored.
