The Hot Form Quench (HFQ®) process from Impression Technologies Limited (ITL) is a proven method for hot viscoplastic forming of ultra-high strength aluminium (UHSAL) alloys including 2x, 6x and 7x series, with parts in serial production for automotive applications since 2016.

In addition HFQ® application programmes are well underway to apply the technology to aerospace structures. HFQ® provides many benefits to OEMs including reduction in weight, part integration, elimination of spring-back issues and attendance cost savings versus conventional forming methods.

This first of three webinars will explain how HFQ® Technology can reduce both cost and eliminate quality problems in the manufacture of aluminium components and also ensure that aluminium can retain a strong value proposition versus composites. It will also provide several case studies and detail on how the HFQ® aerospace supply chain will evolve.

Presenters:

Dr Alistair Foster, Director of Innovation – Impression Technologies

Tim McGuire, Director of Aerospace  – Impression Technologies

Phil Parry, Business Development, Aerospace – Impression Technologies
